Firstly, very well done on completing 1st Year!!

You have done very well to settle in, make new friends and get used to life in secondary school.
The challenges of lots of classroom based assessments and more complex school work lies ahead this year, but you are well able, and ready, of this we have no doubt! Your Year Head and teachers have been very complimentary about you during first year so keep up the good work in second year.
We begin on Tues. 26th with a two-hour induction session where you will be reissued lockers, logins, passwords etc and be given your journal and timetable. Just bring a pen and phone!

Below you will find relevant information for the new school year.
  • Please read again our Code of Behaviour and our policy statements on Anti-Bullying and ICT Acceptable Use Policy.
  • The Board of Management requests that all students familiarise themselves with the key points raised in our ‘Positive Code of Behaviour’ / ‘Anti-bullying‘ policies.
  • As is our practice, parents and pupils will sign a school ‘Code of Behaviour’ agreement form at the commencement of the new academic year, which will include a list of prohibited items.
  • General school information – please give particular attention to our policy on mobile phones and electronic devices
  • Uniform details - We would urge all students to pay careful attention to our school rule regarding uniform as we will be expecting it to be maintained to a very high standard in the next academic year. “Students are required to wear the official school uniform and footwear on all school days.“
  • Schedule for return to school in August is available on the school calendar link.

Books:
Please note that all schoolbooks, stationary and classroom materials are provided under the Junior Cycle Schoolbooks Scheme 2025/2026. The booklist included on the website is here to inform families of what will be covered by the various subjects in First Year.

Families are NOT required to purchase books and materials unless purchasing replacements for lost materials later in the year. Please note second and third year students are expected to keep the books that they already have from first year.

Some helpful CBA links for this year (more to be added):

History CBA 1 - "The Past in My Place" - Create a visual (poster, leaflet, model, video, presentation etc.) evidencing research of a local historical event, person or site. [Submit before end March in 2nd year]

Mathematics CBA 1 - "Mathematical Investigation" - Create a report (wide of formats accepted) evidencing the exploration a real world problem. [Submit before end March in 2nd year]
